Problems open a Microsoft Virtual PC in VMware Player

Hi,

I installed VMware Player 2.0.3 build-80004 on my Vista Business 32 bit machine. When I try to open a Microsoft Virtual PC virtual machine (.vmc) that runs fine in Virtual PC 2007, I get the error message "An error occurred during conversion." in "Importing virutal machine.". The user event log shows the following two entries from source "VMware Virtual Mount Service Extended":

Vmount2.Vmount2Device: no drive letter currently assigned

Vmount2.Vmount2Service: VmountCopyFile failed with error 124

What do I have to do?

There is no configuration where I could change anything in VMware Player and the VM runs in Virtual PC 2007.

Hi Daniel,

I've never tried it but I believe that you have to convert the VM first to VMware format, see , it's a free product.
