I have tried increasing the disk lease timeout and that did not fix it.

How did you increase the timeout and which version of ESX are you using?

The problem was permissions. The user I created for backing up the files was not an administrator. I am going to try making the user a backup operater to see if I can use vcb without being an administrator.

Hi Jason,

My Backup Script is using vcbMounter on ESX3.5U4. Though I only run Backups from one host (one VM after another, nothing in parallel), I randomly get the error

DISKLIB-SPARSE: Failed to write out header: Input/output error (327689).

Converting "/vmbk/myVM01/scsi0-0-0-myvm01.vmdk" (compact file):

How did you solve your problem?

Thanks in Advance,

Marcus
