AMD Athlon 2800+ CPU stays at 100% when starting Guest

    gkthornton Novice

I created a new virtual machine for Windows Server 2003 using all of the defualts, but when I attempt to start the Guest VM to install the OS, the CPU immediately goes to 100% and stays.  If I launch a console window it hangs, then eventually says there is a communication error.  I suspect the console message is result of the CPU issue.

The process taking up the CPU is vmware-vmx-debug.exe or vmware-vmx.exe, when I turn off debuging.

I really need to get this working for a test environment ASAP so any help or tips you can give would be very much appreciated!

      Attempting to install Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 (32bit)

I attached the vmware.log file in case it might help solve the mystery.

      Thanks!
