Which has better Guest OS Performance - Windows 2008 or 2003, x64 or 32-bit?

I just downloaded VMWare server for the first time last week, and I am looking to run Team Foundation Server 2008 (TFS) inside a guest OS. TFS requires both SQL Server 2005 and SharePoint Services 3.0 - all three of which have a x64 versions of the application.

The host system is running Windows 2003 R2 x64 on 4 Intel Xeon E5320 1.86 GHz with Intel VT enabled in the bios and 7 GB RAM. I will be allocating/reserving 1.5 GB of memory for this virtual machine.

So, I am curious what would provide me the best performance within a guest OS? Would running x64 really give me any more performance?
