I am having a problem installing 2.5 Virtual Center on my W2003 SP2 box
So far I have
installed SQl 2005 native client on the VC
created a new database on my SQL 2005 server
created a new SQL id and given it DBO permissions on the database and the MSDB database
started the install of VC 2.5
created the File DSN ODBC called VMWare VirtualCenter accessing the above new database and SQL ID - it tests fine
However when i get to the point where the database and id is specified in the VC 2.5 install wizard I get
'setup failed to connect to the database. Please make sure you entered the correct data source name, username and password.'
i know these details are correct as the File DSN connects fine when I configure it with identical details.
if I try a System DSN i get 'please make sure the SQL agent service is running on the database server' - if I click OK - I get warning that the databsae is set to full recovery - then the install proceeds - then I get 'error 25003 - setup failed to create the Virtual center repository'
I have tried repeating the process even with new databases but it fails at the same place
Any ideas anyone ?
