VMware Converter 3.02 - Windows 2008

I am trying to use VMware convertor to convert a W2008 vm from one esx host to another. But get a error message reporting unable to read os. I am assuming this is because it is W2008 as it runs scucesfully on other vm's.

How can I convert my vm succesfully?

I think I read somewhere that VMware will not be supporting 2008 till later on this year. Maybe someone might be able to give some more info.

Don't think W2008 is scheduled for ESX support until Q3 2008.

Is there any other way I can complete this ?

Have you given the cold clone (boot CD) version of Converter a go?

Alternatively, Platespin offer a conversion tool but it's a lot more expensive than VMware's bundled offering (if my memory serves me correctly).

Is there any way you can just copy the vmdk files to the storage on the other host? What's stopping you just cloning or migrating the VM to the other host?
