FreeBSD 7 - couple problems...

I have FreeBSD 7 running under Vmware 6.0.2 Workstation.

The only problem left seems to be that xorg crashes as I leave a X session

(under either KDE or Xfce4) and will not restart until I kill off KDM-BIN,

at which time it re-displays the login manager (I use KDM).

xorg drops a core dump each time exit a session, but leaves kdm-bin running.

Is this a known problem, and is there a fix?

I can't resize the desktop, even after installing Vmware tools, nor can I ungrab

by simply moving the cursor out of the window like I can on ubuntu.

Following up on this, just in case anyone is interested in FreeBSD 7...

The problem with Xorg doing a core dump upon exiting any session is

directly traced to using KDM.

If I switch to xdm, and simply put a one line .xsession file in my local

directory containing the single word: startkde

it works fine. No more xorg crash on logout.

I don't get the fancy session switching capability

of the kdm login screen but its good enough.

The integration of kde and freebsd seems flawless, and when attached to

a windows network the network browsing works better than either my suse 10.3

or my ubuntu virtual machines.
