Dungeons and Dragons Online

Hello,

Does anybody had luck with Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO)?

I'm using a MacPro 1.83GHz with 2GB RAM with Fusion Version 1.1.1 (72241).

Gues OS: Windows XP SP2

Accelerated 3D graphics is on.

I get the flowing error message:

"The game encountered a fatal Windows API issue while atempting to start. Try rebooting the machine and starting the game again. "

Does anybody have idea what can go wrong?

Thanks in advance!

This page says DDO requires DirectX 9.0c. Fusion currently supports DirectX 9.0 without shaders, so I wouldn't expect DDO to work.

Thanks for the response!

I've checked further the dxdiag of DirectX9.0c 3D Test runs perfect, so that one looks ok,

but examining what functions the game client PE using from the D3DX9_30.DLL with dependency walker I see a couple of Shader calls.

  • D3DXCompileShader

  • D3DXCompileShaderFromFileA

  • D3DXDissambleShader

  • D3DXGetShaderConstantTable

  • D3DXGetShaderSamplers

Do you know if there is any plan for shader support?

Thanks in advance!

The developers are aware of the desire for shader support, but VMware policy is to not comment on unannounced features, timelines, products, etc. so I can't say any more.
