Virtual Center Question

Hello,

I have installed VMWare Server (Free Ed). And have downloaded a trial of virtual center. I installed it and now I'm trying to add a host, but I get an error about Server Agent is not responding. So do I have to install an agent and if so where do I get it.

VMware Server 1.x can only be managed by VirtualCenter 1.4. See page 2 of the compatability guide - http://www.vmware.com/pdf//vi3_35/esx_3/r35/vi3_35_25_compat_matrix.pdf. I believe that once VMware Server 2.0 is released, a future update to VC 2.x will provide support for this.

Hi - Virtual Center does not manage VMware Server. Virtual Center manages VMware ESX Server. You can download a trial of ESX Server if your hardware supports it - then you could add that server to your Virtual Center.
