add to inventory downloaded virtual appliance disconnect host

hello

I have 5 ESX 3.0.1 (32039) runing with VC 2.5, and with 2 ressources pool (one with 4 hosts and one with only one host)

I download a virtual appliance from vmware site (buildix appliance but I have try also ubuntu appliance)), copy it to the vmfs storage, untar it , chmod it and then try to add the appliance to one ressource pool (with only one host) . When I add it to the specified host (add to inventory after storage browsing) the host is immediatly disconnected.

If I try to reconnect this host, I receive the following error message "unable to access the specified host. it either does not exist, the server software is not responding or there is a network problem". During the process to reconnect the host I can see the new added virtual appliance in the list of VM running on this host.

To reconnect the host, I must do the following (see on another post here), copy /etc/vmware/hostd/vmInventory.xml to a backup file, restart service mgmt-vmware, then I can reconnect the host, I must then remove the orphaned VM visible under this host, then readd them (old runing VM) ( not the new download one). And all is ok but .. I can't add a new download appliance.

I can well create a new fresh appliance from integrated templates.

What about this ?

Thanks at all.
