Can I install VMware Converter to a VM?

Reading the Vmware Converter manual it shows that you have your source machine, destination VM, and a VMware converter machine in the middle. Can this VMware converter machine run on a VM or should I dig up an old physical server?

Thanks.

Nope, it can be a VM. I use a VM myself for converter. It's too small to waste on a physical box. It works great.

I always use a VM for this.

You can even install it on your desktop, it's such a small app.

You can also create a bootable CD using Bart PE - and bypass the need for Converter machine.

When we used converter, we just had it installed on one of our PC's and ran it from there. After the fact it really doesn't matter because it worked for us but was it really supposed to be installed on a server or is a PC just as good?

I would just run it from you normal desktop. No need to waste server resources for such a small App.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll build me a VM.
