Transfer license to another license server

I am currently running a 5 host cluster that is managed via Virtual Center server and a license server. I need to remove one of the hosts from this cluster and add it to another cluster that is managed by another Virtual Center server and a license server. The host name will change in the process. How can I remove the licenses for this host from the existing license server and install it on the other license server?

in virtual center under configuration licenes chhose edit and remove the licenses. Or just let the license expire for that license server

The as the previous post says you can go to vmware and change your licenses so that you configure your license file to match the model you need.

If understand correct you want to move a complete license from one license server to another one, right?

This would mean you need to re-create the license files (under you VMware support profile page).

But if you have enough licenses available on your target VC, then just remove the ESX from the current VC and then connect it to the new VC.

In VC you can verify the license information (server) in the configuration settings of the ESX host.

Hi

Thanks for the response; I will not have enough licenses on the target

VC. I am pretty new to VMWare, please elaborate on "re-create the

license files".

Regards

Go to vmware.com, click accounts and manage your licenses. Now u need delete the files and generate one file for each VC Lic server with the exact number of licenses needed.
