Upgrading Database - 2.5 VirtualCentre

I've tried to run through the VirtualCentre upgrade and choose use an existing database but it has said that the "selected DSN points to an MSDE database which is an unsupported database previously used for product evaluation only. Please restart this upgrade after migrating the MSDE database to a supported edition of SQL server".

Can I choose to install a microsoft sql 2005 express database and will it upgrade it?

Or do I need to actually upgrade the MSDE first? If so can I just download a copy of SQL2005 express and do an upgrade of the msde?

Thanks

Hi

What I did: http://virtualgabe.wordpress.com/2007/12/08/installing-virtual-center-25-esx-35/

On the VC2.5 CD you'll find the installation package of SQL Express. During this install SQL can upgrade the database to SQL express.

After that, during install of VC2.5, you'll get the option of converting the VC 2.0 database to VC 2.5 database.

I think I jumped the gun a bit. I just ran through the SQL 2005 Express install but it did not ask me to upgrade any MSDE databases.

Any ideas?
