ESX and iSCSI (openfiler and IET): Rescan iSCSI targets does not help

People,

I am at a total loss. During the training, that I gave in Africa, I was able to show the whole Vmotion stuff with iSCSI storage. Now, back home in Holland, I just cannot find the iSCSI storage. I've tried with opefiler and today tried IET.

Setup:

All the Vms in my laptop. (ESX 3.0.2 patched till the latest 57941), VC, DC and iSCSI Taget Box.

I've tried scanning via the GUI, via console, restart etc, it just doesn't show up.

Anyone wanna tell me what's going on here?

Thanks heaps in advance!

Did you open the firewall "esxcfg-firewall -e swISCSIClient" ?

There are numerous things that can go wrong so I'm afraid there is no simple answer.

Yes I did.

How about, did you add a VMKernel port (with it's own IP address) on the same network segmen/vlan as the iSCSI server?

I did all the steps and still all I get when I rescan is;

# esxcfg-swiscsi -s

Scanning vmhba40...

Doing iSCSI discovery. This can take a few seconds ...

Rescanning vmhba40...done.

On scsi2, removing:.
