Hi, I understand what a vNetwork Distributed Switch is, but im not sure if I know all the use cases. Is the purpose only so that you dont have to create the same portgroups on each server in the cluster for Vmotion? Or are there other reasons? Why would vN Dist. switch be a reason to upgrage to Ent plus?
Thanks for your help.

vDS provides more than just having to configure your portgroups once ... heck this can be accomplished with host profiles.
Take a look at this table for the additional features and comparison between standard vSwitch and vDS: http://www.vmware.com/products/vnetwork-distributed-switch/features.html
