What VLANs are Trunked into a ESXi Host

Hi,

One of the questions I get asked a lot is "Is this vlan trunked into the ESXi Hosts". I then have to speak to the network team to confirm if it is or not.

Is there a way on the ESXi host I can confirm myself without having to go the network team? We are on ESXi 6.0 and are using standard switches

Thanks

From the ESXi host you can only check whether you can see the specific VLAN in the "Observed IP Ranges" (see https://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006744).

However, the only reliable way is to indeed communicate with the network team. This way they know what's required on the ESXi host's network ports (i.e. allowed VLANs), and you know what's configured.
