VMware lab recommendation

What is a good low cost physical switch to use with a VMware lab?  I only need 2 small 24 or 48 port switches.  I'm trying to figure out a good Cisco switch model that tends to have a lot of market penetration and I could find one easily on ebay or something.  I only need 1Gb ethernet, IOS for the Operating system, LACP capability and this kind of basic stuff.  Thanks!

Many folks go for a refurbished 1GbE version of a Cisco 3560G / 3750G (or one from eBay). The SG300 series was introduced to solve the gap.

First, if you want Cisco you may not find a low cost 🙂 But, I think you search on eBay you can easily find used Cisco 2960g that will fit your needs.

The Cisco SG200 or SG300 series is likely what you're after. It runs an IOS-like system. I've written a few posts on my SG300-52 port switch that may be of use to you.

OK thanks again.  The SG200/300 looks good - but what would be the best equivalent solution for the price that actually has the true IOS?
