VM loses network connection

Hi All,

I have a Windows 2003 server running on ESXi 4 virtual machine hardware ver7 with on NIC vmxnet3 with a static IP address. The virtual machine loses it's network connection, I can reboot the server, disable and enable NIC (in Windows and VC) but nothing helps. What fixed it was adding a 2nd NIC with the driver e1000 and it started working. I could remove the 2nd NIC and all is still working.

Any idea's?

What driver is the first NIC using? I'm using either Flexible or the e1000 in my environment (the flexible is for the Broadcom NIC, with e1000 for the six Intel NIC ports).

The NIC is using vmxnet3 driver.
