Two vDS on same vCenter with the same vlan number

Is it possible to have two vDS configurations in two separate datacenters with the same vlan number?

Also would it cause communication problems with two machines in different datacenter on the same vlan?  In my example below, guest-x and guest-y can comminutcate.  They reside on different ESXi 4.1 hosts of course.

vCenter

     DataCenter-1

          vDS-1

               dvportgroup-vlan100

                    guest-x

     DataCenter-2

          vDS-2

               dvportgroup-vlan100

                    guest-y

Hello

The same VLAN ID on two different vDS should cause no problem. The only issue you will have on your design

vCenter

     DataCenter-1

          vDS-1

               dvportgroup-vlan100

                    guest-x

     DataCenter-2

          vDS-2

               dvportgroup-vlan100

                    guest-y

is that you cannot use the same portgroup name twice.

Regards.

The configuration that you have provided is absolutely fine.

You can have quite a good number of vDS with such configuration.

There should not be any communication issue between the two VLANs unless the physical network creates any issue.
