Route based on physical NIC load - impact on live system

Hello everyone,

What is the impact of switching the default load balancing to "Route based on physical NIC load" on a distributed port group where there are live VMs running?

Do the VMs lose a ping or two?  Do they disconnect and power down?  Is there a VMware KB on this?

VMs may not even notice, it will only move them in an uplinks load exceeds 75% for over 30 seconds so it depends how busy your links are. Even if they move uplink it should be barely noticeable, i would expect MAYBE a ping drop but nothing more... certainly less noticeable than a vmotion etc
