Removing host from DVS error - port 456 is still on host hostnamex connected to <not-found.>

We're trying to remove a host from our Distributed Virtual Switch by going to Inventory > Networking > Selecting the DVS > Hosts and "Remove from DVS",

but get the following error:

untitled.JPG

We're using Nexus 1000v

The ESX 4.0 update 1 host is in maintenance mode. We've tried restarting it. Shutting down the interfaces connected to it. No luck.

Doing a "esxcfg-vswitch -l" on the host shows us:

  DVPort ID           In Use      Client

  741                 0

  742                 0

  743                 0

  456                 0

  457                 0

Any ideas?

We're not sure if we can just uninstall the VEM, we're concerned about the licensing and how our vcenter will react if the host isn't removed properly.

After a lot of trying, we finally got help from Cisco.

We only needed to refresh the port with the id 456 in the port overview, then we could remove it!
