Offline SVMotion between dvswitches in different Datacentres

Hello,

I have the following scenario:

Single VCentre

2 DataCentres

Cluster in each datacentre with dvSwitch.

ESX Hosts are version 4.1 U2

I want to offline migrate some servers between the different datacentres, but the validation step fail when selecting the destination host with the following message...

Network Interface 'Network Adapter 1' uses network 'distributed Virtual Switch' (uuid:xxxxxxx), which is not accessible.

The hosts have full network L3 connectivity between the datacentres,

Am I missing some configuration on the dvswitch, as this has to be possible?

I think source host must also a member of vDS in different datacenter(destination). Just allocate one vmnic for source host to destination vDS, change virtual network for source VM to destination vDS and migrate it.

Don't think you can logically do this within VCentre.  A host in a datacentre cannot be added to a dvswitch in a separate one.

Could be but since both datacenter in the same vCenter, probably you can though I never try it before..
