No Connection to the V-Center Server

Hello together,

during the update i lost the connection to the v-center server . The command esxcfg-vswitch -l shows

vSwitch0 32 4 32 1500 vmnic0, vmnic3

PortGroup Name VLAN ID Used Ports Uplinks

Service Console 0 0 vmnic0, vmnic3

VM Network 0 0 vmnic0, vmnic3

Service Console2 0 1 vmnic0, vmnic3

vSwitch1 64 4 64 1500 vmnic1

PortGroup Name VLAN ID Used Ports Uplinks

VMkernel2 0 1 vmnic1

VMkernel 0 1 vmnic1

BFPdvSwitch 256 2 256 -

DVPort ID In Use Client

129 0

130 0

131 0

132 0

1 1 vswif0

Now i can´t change any value on the dvSwitch only on the vSwitches. The command esxcfg-vswitch -c gives at both vswitches 1, and by the BFPdvSwitch 0

Has anybody an answer what is wrong?

Thanks Bernd

it seems your managment vswif interface is connected to vDS and that vDS does not have any uplink. Could you try adding uplink to the vDS and see if it works. thanks!

Thank´s vor the answer, I can´t change any value at the vDS with the esxcfg-* commands. So I reinstalled the esx 4.0 server. Now the operation is OK.
