Nexus 1000v password recovery

I'm trying to recover the password on a Nexus 1000v VSM that I've cloned from our live environment and am running in a Workstation nested environment.

When I try to boot the VSM from the installation ISO it is completely ignored and goes straight through to the login page. If I created a new VM with no OS and boot from this same ISO it boots front the ISO as expected.

Is there something I'm missing here, does anyone know exactly how to recover the password? I cant find any decent documentation on how to do this, just a simple flow chart with no details from Cisco.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Adam

Hi adhards,

The bit that's missing from the Cisco documentation is step1 and step2 below which should be performed on the VM in question before attempting to power up.

1. Edit Settings > Options > Boot Options > Force Bios Setup

2. Once in the BIOS screen move the cdrom to the top of the boot order.

3. Next, follow the instructions in Password Recovery for Cisco Nexus 1000v
