Need a small clarification......
Virtual switches (standard) are layer 2 devices, is there any particular reason why we cannot have 2 NIC's connected to the same vSwitch except for security reasons (STP).
Regards,
Vijay
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something. However you can have multiple NIC's (uplinks) on a vSwitch. Where did you read this?
André
... to add to my previous post, the limit of uplinks on a vSwitch is 32.
see http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/virtual_networking_concepts.pdf

Oops was trying to say...
Why we cannot connect 2 vSwitches to a single physical NIC.
Regards,
Vijay
Can you explain what you are trying to achieve with this setup?
André
Nothing just was curious about why the restriction, but was going through couple of documents seems like it was due to STP; please correct me if im wrong here.

Vijay
