Moving VM Port Group with Existing VMs from vSwitch0 to a new vSwitch1 with new VM Port Group

Hi,

My vSphere 4 Host was configured from default settings having only one vSwitch (vSwitch0) and was eventually populated by 2 VMs now.

I am now making changes to the network configuration from vCenter and adding a new vSwitch (vSwitch1) with a new VM Port group.

How do I safely move my 2 existing VMs from vSwitch0 to the new VM Port group in vSwitch1?

Thanks.

Simply go to the VMs "Edit settings", click on your NIC and change the network (choosing the new network label). This will safely move the vm.

Cool! Never thought it was that simple. Tried to crawl my way from the same host vnetwork config tab Smiley Happy

Thanks Marcelo, much appreciated!

Cheers.
