Max port groups on a dVS?

Hello all,

I've been looking for a piece of information I thought would be easy to find. You many port groups can you have on a vDS for VMware 5.1?

I've looked over the mxiums guide and I see it's 256 port groups per vSS, and I will be running into a limitation around that due to our environment. Obviously we can use vDS's but I would like to know what the max port groups are per vDS.

Does any one have any information on this? I've Googleing like mad and I can't find any hard numbers.

In the same maximum document you find the below

Distributed virtual network switch ports per vCenter 60000
Static port groups per vCenter 10000
Ephemeral port groups per vCenter 256
