Hi,

What's the maximum physical NIC I can connect to vswitch?

I would say that the number equals the max number of physical NICs per ESX host...

I think the next way is good too:

You can to connect first vswith to second one, and you`ll get double ports quantity minus two.

You can't connect vswitch to vswitch.

You can to do it in ESX 3.5 through the console

But in WmWare documentation you can read: Network traffic cannot flow directly from one virtual switch to another virtual switch within the same host. Virtual switches provide all the ports you need in one switch

You can connect them not directly, but using the VM. Let me axplain. Every of your vswitvhes are connected to different network cards, on your VM. Then you just need to use teaming for both of them.
