IP allocation in vApps

Hi,

I created a vApp and IP pool on the datacenter where the vApp is. Then I chose Transient option under vApp properties so that the IP addresses are automatically allocated at power-on. I added 2 vms to the vApp and when they are powered on they dont have an IP set. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much for your help,

Sanja

Thanks for your reply DCjay. I already saw that link and I followed the instructions but for some reason when the vms get powered on they dont have set IPs. Smiley Sad

From the Link above. The IP will be assigned like a DHCP. Do you have a static IP configured on the VM? If yes, chnage to dynamic and power on again.

Hhmmm running out of ideas.

What is your IP allocation policy?

It has to be tracsient or DHCP.

Can be found form edit vapp>>Options>> IP allocation Policy.

I'm wondering if the vm has to be set up certain way. I went in the VM settings and enabled vApp.

From what I know, merely dragging the VM into the vApp should work just fine
