How to remove a host from distributed switch if dvswitch removed from the host?

Hi,

If someone removed the distributed switch from vClient connected directly to the esx host, how to remove that host from the distributed switch configuration?

There is no option to add that host back into distributed switch.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Suresh.

can you try disconnect the host, then removing it from vCenter?

I have the same problem. The dvswitch does not exist on the esx host but VC think the host is still connected to it. "readd" the host is not possible since VC think it's already there.

Try to remove host from dvswitch does not work. I get the message " Can not complete object could not be found. got (vim.fault.NotFound) exception.

For me a disconnect host did not help. Any more ideas?

Hi Enyahe,

Did you remove the hosts network adapters from the dvSwitch in VC, but still see the host connected to it, and still see the dvSwitch in the host's configuration>networking>distributed virtual switch? If so, youll need to connect your vsphere client to the host directly, from there youll be able to remove the dvSwitch it its direct configuration>networking>distributed virtual switch.

Go to home -> invertory -> networking

Then go to the dvSwitch what you want to remove from host.

Go to Hosts tab.

Right mouse click and "Remove from vSphere Distributed Switch".
