How to clone a virtual machine.

Hi All,

I am quite new to vsphere client. I want to create a clone of a virtual machine. I found the way to create it in the help but help says that Select a virtual machine and In Commands, select Clone to New Virtual Machine.but this option is not available in command window.

Please tell me how can i find this options. Do i need to set some permission for this.

Hi Sumit

I'm assuming that you are using the vSphere client to connect directly to an ESXi host (if i'm wrong, please let me know!). Unfortunately the cloning functionality in the vSphere client is only available when connected to a vCenter server.

However, there are a lot of articles about how to get around this limitation, have a look here as a start:
