ESXi vmkernel (vmk0) on ephemeral port?

Hello. We use ephemeral ports our our Distributed Switch for our vCenters, but what about the ESXi management port? Should that be an ephemeral port too, or does it matter? I thought vmkernel ports were all static. We have a Management port group on our VDS for the vmk0 port, I just dont know whether having it ephemeral would help. Thank you.

You ask a great question and I cannot find a solid answer myself. Biggest difference between Ephemeral and Static is if VM's can come online when the VCSA is down. Since VM's do not connect to VMKernel ports directly, maybe this do not apply.
