ESXi - VM - Windows Server 2016 and 2019 Standard- FileZilla Client - Not connected

Hi,

Host Environment: VMWare ESXi 6 and 7 (In both)

Guest OS - Win 2016/2019 STD

  1. Installed the OpenSSH on the the Guest OS for SSH - Win 2016/2019 STD 
  2. Port 22 is listening in the Guest OS and verified in the Firewall of the OS.
  3. Installed the FileZilla Client in a WIndows 10 Pro Machine to do the FTP 
  4. When I am trying to do the SFTP with the VM the following error message I noticed and connection not established....

Status: Connecting to 172.16.9.1...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=11
Command: open "Administrator@172.16.9.1" 22
Status: Using username "Administrator".
Command: Pass: ***************
Status: Connected to 172.16.9.1
Error: Could not connect to server

Plz guide me to correct the error

Can you connect via WinSCP or putty ?

Yes I can do the putty with the VM. Just checked now....

Try winscp - it has a sftp option

Hi @continuum 

Tried with the WinSCP also. 

But failed to establish the connection.

As in the above link installed the openSSH and tried, but failed.

failed is such a desperate problem description 😕

When you try with putty or WinSCP you probably get error messages such as ... ?

Hi,

It is geeting connected by changing connection method to password in the openSSH configuration.

But when I am tring to connect with certificate based authentication it is failed 

It might because of the certificate private file in the client system
