DSCP support in vSphere 5.5

Hi,

I've read the section regarding "Traffic Filtering and Marking" in the VMware documentation. One thing is not really clear for me though:

How do I enable support for DSCP, so that the vdSwitches will prioritize tagged DiffServ packets according to the tag they ALREADY have? I don't want to configure any manual tagging of specific traffic going from A to B - it has already been tagged by our other equipment.

So my question is:

Does vdSwitches respect the existing DSCP tagging in packets and prioritize according to default values, simply by enabling "Traffic Filtering and Marking" without creating any rules, or doesn't it work that way?

It works that way in HP switches, so I way just curious if it is the same in VMwares switches.

Thanks,

Rasmus

Hello,

I have the same doubt ...

Did you do the test without tag dsp traffic in port group ?

Thanks,

Benoit
