Configuring Fiber Channel card on esx 5.1 host

Hi to All,

I have three esxi 5.1 hosts.  I have new 2 port 8G Fiber Channel cards installed in each and FC cables from the card port going to the fiber switch.

This is my first time working with FC cards on VMware hosts, what else do I need to do in order for these cards to be enabled or networked in?  Any good explanation, Docs and or videos would be extremely welcomed.

Just ask the EMC tech to do the zoning on the SAN switch and the LUN masking and map the volumes to your hosts on the storage side... after the volumes has be presented, just go to your ESXi, rescan your HBAs and create the datastores.

From ESXi perspective you should do nothing... but depending of your SAN infrastructure, you should make zoning in switch and configure your storage array with LUN masking.

we have a new EMC VNX physically installed.  EMC tech will be configuring the unit from remote access.  We don't do any of the switch config, that is on EMC to do.  So with what we have done so far, popping in the FC card in the ESXi hosts and running the Fiber cables from the FC ports to the Switch is Good?
