Configuration for DMZ

Hi

We are now entering the last stage of our virtualisation programme by looking at virtualisation of our inner and outer DMZs.  I understand that although you can run VirtualCenter on a non Windows domain server this is not the recommended practise.   I am therefore looking for some guidance on the best practises for hosting our vSphere hosts in the two zones.

  • Should we run a stand-alone VC in one zone that manages the hosts and guests in each zone.
  • Should we use our internal VC with appropriate firewall rules opened to manage the guests and hosts.  (This is my preferred but not sure if security would permit)

Has anyone got links to best practise for hosting in a DMZ or happy to share their experiences?

Many Thanks

Graeme
