vsphere client on WinXP

All of a sudden my client will not connect to my vcenter server, I am getting the "error parsing the server" message. Everything that i've found only deals with this error message when using Windows 7. I am using WinXP and it has been working fine for a long time. The only thing I can see that has change was some windows security updates that were installed last night on my machine via WSUS.

Has anyone else had any problems with this? I'm not sure where to start as far as troubleshooting the problem other than to start un-installing the security updates. But even then I'd still like to know exactly what causes this error message.

also note that I have unstalled the client and reinstalled it with the same results.

FIXED!

Although i'm not sure which update was installed via WSUS i have a feeling it was service pack 2 for .NET framework 3.0 that broke the client. My client was version 4.0.

After I installed the client from my ESX 4.0 U1 server server everything work perfectly

Hello.

This sounds very similar to the problem being discussed in[this thread|http://communities.vmware.com/message/1549225].

Good Luck!
