vmware ESXi 4.1 to 5.0 upgradation

Hi all,

I have installed ESXi server 4.1.inside that machine installed windows server 2003 as hardware version 7. Now i want to upgrade my ESXi from 4.1 to 5.0. what are things i need to do? In my existing server have two iSCSI LUNs.After upgradation what is the status of LUNs?

your best approach may be an interactive upgrade using the ESXi5 media.  With that said, you may think about unplugging your iSCSI connections. Once the upgrade is complete you can plug back in your connections.  Your guest will have to be powered off during the upgrade

You can keep the same LUNs presented, update the VMFS from VMFS3 to VMFS5 and upgrade your virtual machine version from 7 to 8.
