Hi,
I have clarification for vSphere 6.5 licenses. We have vCenter 5.5/ESXi5.5 environment with vSphere 5 standard licenses
1.vCenter server 5 standard licenses
2.vSphere 5 standard restricted licenses
We are looking forward to upgrade to vCenter6.5 with ESXi6.0/6.5 so do I need to upgrade my license or should I purchase new licenses for vSphere 6 / or 6.7 ?
I am also having "vSphere 7 Standard" licenses , can I use that licenses by downgrading to vSphere 6.5 ?
Can someone assist me on this please .
Thank you
Each major version needs license keys matching this major version.
If your 5.x licenses are covered by an active SnS contract, or were covered at the time when the 6.x versions became generally available (GA date), these licenses should show up as "upgradable" in your "Customer Connect" portal. Please check in your portal.
The 7.x licenses you have, should be downgradable to version 6.
