vSphere Host Update Utility no longer works after U3

I just used host update utility to patch ESXi 4.0 host from version 360236 to 398348.

Now when I scan for patches I get the following error (taken from viu-#.log):

[        :ShowErr ] 2011-07-01 14:59:25.644  Scanning failed: The scan operation has failed (Failed to log into NFC server). Further details about this failure can be read from the log file "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\VMware\VIU\logs\viu-8.log"

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I can't say what the issue is. I would try updating the vSphere Client from the updated ESXi host web interface link.

I would start getting used to the command line utilities. The Host Update Utility is not supported beyond 4.0 Download the vCLI tools or install the vMA appliance. http://vmware.com/go/vma
