vSphere 4.1 upgrade data migration tool question

I am in the process of upgrading our vSphere 4.0 environment to vSphere 4.1. I have a new 64-bit host for vCenter prepped and I am reading the guides and plan on using the data migration tool to backup all of our vCenter configuration to move to the new host.

A few weeks ago we moved our vCenter databases from the local SQL Express instance onto a dedicated SQL 2008 server. As a precaution we left the original databases in the SQL Express instance in place and just disabled the SQL Express service in case we needed it.

My question is: if I run the data migration tool with the SQL instance disabled on my current vCenter host server, will it still try to back up the local databases and bring them over? Worst case I suppose I can just uninstall the SQL Express instance but this server is a bit old and I'm trying to make this process as pain free as I possibly can.

Found out the answer myself during our migration last night. With our SQL Express instance disabled, the backup script did not attempt to move any local databases remaining on the server.

Hope this helps out anyone in a similar situation to what we had.
