vCentre Server 5.5U1a

I currently have a vCenter Server 5.5 1476387.

I want to upgrade to the latest release (mainly to get IE11 to work). I have attempted a simple install with build 1750795, but the installer tells me vSphere is already installed !

Is it not possible to accomplish an upgrade with simple install, or have I missed something here ?

Tony

Hi,

don't use simple install method, from all my previous experiences upgrading vCenter server components separately was always better choice...

Follow this order of upgrading components:

1. vCenter Single Sign-On.

2. vSphere Web Client.

3. vCenter Inventory Service.

4. vCenter Server.

For more info see:

P.

I agree with vNEX, we do separate component upgrade each time. I did not see any issue.

However, there are some issues when you use IE11 with even latest version. It seems, it is not fully supported.

Ref-When will web client support for IE 11 be implemented? Its not in the 3/11/2014 update!
