vCenter upgrade from 5.0 to Update 1

So I'm updating my vSphere environment from 5.0 to Update 1.  The view update went just fine but i'm having issues with vCenter.  When i run the upgrade it looks like it gets to the install from profile driven storage and then i receive the error "the wizard was interrupted before VMwre vCEnter Server could be completely installed.  I consulted another discussion which referenced kb 2007231.  I made the changes that it directed but no dice. 

I have found similar problems described but not quite what i'm trying to do.  Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I have attached the vminst.log file.

Just went to upgrade to update 1 last night came across the same error.

Not sure if you have resolved your issue but there is a fix for it under this KB 2017147

Log file says "VMware VirtualCenter-build-623373: 03/22/12 15:45:23 Failed to install SPS." Check if Storage profile service is present in Services (Services.msc).
