vCenter 5 server requirments

With version 5 can the vCenter server have Windows server 2008 R2 or should the requirements for version 4 still be used?

Thanks,

Either both support Windows 2008 R2.

If you are starting fresh with vCenter I highly recommend the Appliance (which is Linux based) for vCenter.. much easier, no install, and better performance.

Thank you for the suggestion.  How can I find more information on the product and pricing (a quick google search returns results fo vStorage appliance).

Thank you,

Thank you,

We have already purchased the VMware vSphere 5 Standard Acceleration Kit.  So, my question is can a preconfigured appliance be added to this to automate VMware setup?  I should also add that we have our own SQL 2008 server so the datastore can be placed on that server.

Thank you,
