upgrade from vcenter 6.0 to 6.5 failed

I tried to upgrade a vcenter server from 6.0 to 6.5. It failed giving an error saying:

"Failed to setup service account for service user: username

Unable to set up the configuration files of the Component Manager service.

This is an unrecoverable error, please retry install. If you run into this error again, please collect a support bundle and open a support request."

Unfortunately i dont have a backup of the vcenter server to roll back to.

What would be the best option for me?

The vmware hosts in the cluster are running as of now, but im worried what will happen to them in case of restart? Do the hosts have actual configs also on storage and network setups?

@ldvmware

Thank you for posting on VMware Communities.

Since the current vCenter 6.0 is in non-responding state and also as you do not have a valid backup of the vCenter, you have 2 options:

1 You can log a new case with VMware vCenter Team to bring the vCenter 6.0 up and running.

2 Deploy a new VCSA 6.5 or 6.7.
