upgrade from vSphere 4.0 to 4.1 License

Hi

1.

I already bought license for vsphere 4.0 for our new deployment.

I have license for vCenter Standard and vSphere Enterprise Plus

Do I need to buy any upgrade license to deploy vSphere 4.1 instead of vSphere 4?

2.

Can I use the same license key to activate both ESX 4.0 and ESXi 4?

your valid inputs are appreciated

Check out the Executive Summary of the "[VMware vSphere 4.1 Pricing, Packaging and Licensing Overview|http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf]," where it states "Current customers will receive the new functionality in VMware vSphere as part of their active support and subscription (SnS) contracts."

All License Keys are valid for Vsphere 4 and 4.1 and for both verisons (ESX Classic and ESXi). I would install ESXI over ESX as ESX will not be aviliable on feture releases.

unless you want to upgrade any feature sets, you do not need to buy any additional licenses. The licenses are all still vSphere4 regardless of the dot release.

Log in to "My Account" Upper Right.

Log in to http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_vsphere_4/4 If you didn't have access to 4.1 you would be denied.
