I'm in the middle of upgrading servers. I'm noving from PE2950 Gen2's to PE 2950 Gen3's (upgrade is in order to enable FT. previous consultants spec'd Gen2's with 53xx proc's that are incompatible with FT! everytime I try I get the following error message

If possible use a cluster with Enhanced Vmotion compatibility (EVC) enable: See KB article 1003212. In the absence of EVC, see article 1993.
I've tried turning on EVC but I can't because it's not compatible with the existing servers. I've tried adding the CPUID mask to the new PE2950 but that doesn't work either.
The only way I can get machines to migrate to the mew box is to shut the VM down, add the CPUID mask to the individual VM, migrate it and restart it. That is completely impractical as I have several Mission critical VM's that cannot have down time.
Assuming I've done things correctly (big assumption here! or at least a serious design flaw!!
