Hi

As you know, In ESXi, "BootBank" is a partition for hypervisor image that will be decompressed during boot and will be extracted during the boot process and loaded into the system memory, so if it becomes inaccessible, ESXi will not boot. you can check BootBank partition with "df -h" command in ESXi. (a vFAT partition that is approximately 250 MB)

So there are some different reasons that may cause the problem:

1- Firmware related problems (CD-ROM, Storage, HBA and ...)

2- Storage related problems such as USB devices (the place you want to install ESXi) or a

3- CD-ROM problem (If you are attempting to install ESXi from CD, not ISO file)

4- esx.conf problem

so please check these kinds of problems, and if it doesn't work, I believe the only solution is to reinstall ESXi from scratch.

Hope this could be helpful

cheers

This is the first host that you updated or have you updated more?
Which server (model) are you using?

Have you tried pressing f12 and running the chain command?

dhcp net0
chain + pxe server (vmware auto deploy)
