hardware requirements for vsan ready nodes ver 7.0

How schould I understand requirement for server specification records in "vmware compability guide" for VSAN 7.0

Boot DeviceBOSS controller card + with 2 M.2 Sticks 120G (RAID 1),FH or Internal SD Module with 2x 16GB SD Card

 

1. Is that required to have one from possible configurations of :

M.2 sticks + FH (flash usb drive)

M.2 sticks + SD Module with 2x 16GB SD Card

2. Or it is required to have one of M.2 or FH or SD module.?

Please tell me which point is correct.

Some guessing:

  1. The "FH" stand for FullHeight which means the BOSS-S1 PCI cards is a Full Profile version... LowProfile also exists and it depends on your server chassis and available PCI Slots. Dont use Dual SD Card option any more.... the BOSS-1  (for Dell 14Gen or 15Gen.) or BOSS-S2(15Gen Only like R650,R750) are the way to go!
  2. A Dell VxRAIL comes with both.... BOSS and Dual SD.

We ship both to customers and BOSS-S2 is great because you can swap the M.2 without to open the Server.
