Windows 8 & Console

Hi everyone,

I have a little problem since windows 8 .

I have 3 ESXI 5.0 servers. I saw that console in vsphere client 5.0 may not work on windows 8. So I installed VGC (Vmware Guest Console). All works fine !

But I installed a fourth ESXI 5.1 server. I installed vsphere client 5.1. Console works now in vsphere client but only on ESXI 5.1, not 5.0 with the message "VMRC console has disconnected..."

On VGC, VM Console not works on ESXI 5.1 with the message: "Unable to connect to the MKS: Internal error". All VM Console on ESXI 5.0 work...

Can you help me?

Hi...
First U have to install client 5.1 to connect to ur esxi enviroment.. as the highest version is 5.1...
Second, for vmware guest console, check this link:

Read last page posts, talking about killing certain process then uninstall client then reinstall

Use vSphere 51U1, vSphere 50U2 products are supported to work with Windows 8. It may not work with previous release.

Refer the vCenter server/ESX 51U1/50U2 release note under New feature section.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for this late feedback, but i was in vacations.

So I installed vsphere client 5.0 Update 2 and all works fine in windows 8.

for the vmware guest console it works too, thank you very much !
